Rolando Gomez

Thrilling in studio and location, Peter!

About four or five years ago I was introduced to the CALIFORNIA SUNBOUNCE system for outdoor shooting and, until my recent trip to Cozumel, I thought the system was for outdoor use only,
boy was I wrong.

I thought my trip was ruined when on the first shooting day we were faced with storm clouds, thunder and rain throughout, though we still managed to get one beautiful sunset in thanks to the SUN-BOUNCE MINI. I basically set the SUN-BOUNCE MINI about 15 feet from the model, with the zebra side toward the model, and pointed my flash head straight in the middle of the reflector. The flash instantly became my sun, the SUN-BOUNCE MINI became my main light source (modifier) and the zebra fabric gave me that much needed warm tone that I've learned to appreciate.

I really appreciate the quality of light the CALIFORNIA SUNBOUNCE system brings you, along with its durability and usability, and my assistants are tickled pink about the system's compactness, practically weightless and durable features, not to mention you can put one together and tear it down in a couple of minutes, practically blindfolded.

Gomez

Rolando Gomez is a highly published photojournalist who in 1994 was selected by the Department of Defense as one of the "Top Five" military photographers world wide. Even after two consecutive promotions (2001 & 02') at the agency and being selected as Senior-Level Civilian Employee of the Year, Gomez left the agency in mid-2004 to pursue his passions in photography.

In 1999, Gomez founded the popular GarageGlamour.com website, now visited by over 500,000 people each month. His popularity on the Internet led to his international glamour workshops—currently over 63 consecutive sell-outs in 48 months and the signing of two book deals, the first to be released in April 2006 by Amherst Media.

Gomez has written articles and provided images for MSN.com, the United States Army, Studio Photography & Design (contributing editor & writer), AOL/Compuserve, Netscape, Playboy Enterprises and many others. Gomez’ first DVD, Glamour Made Simple sold over 1,000 copies in it’s first month from sales on his website alone. Gomez spoke to standing-room only crowds at the Photo Imaging & Design Expo in 2004, 2005 and will speak in 2006. He also spoke to capacity crowd at the Photo Plus Expo 2004 and 2005 expo in New York City. He’s a speaker/instructor for the Palm Beach Photographic Art Center and FotoFusion 2006.
