Swatt the Light

Swatt away the harsh overhead sun or light source and create the light you want. Here you can move your shade as your talent moves creating more spontaneous and vivacious shots.

Here during David Mecey's FotoFantasyCamp the SUN-SWATTER BIG allows the model to move freely allowing the photographer to stay in his creative flow and not stop to repostition.

Steve Thornton fought the harsh Nevada light until he started incorporating the SUN-SWATTER into his workflow. With only the SUN-SWATTER and the SUN-BOUNCE PRO he was able to balance the background, talent and white hats for his client.

Thornton states: "I wanted to shoot this couple in direct sunlight but because in this Nevada desert's clean air the light was very hard and because the hats are white they would have blown out totally. So I put an assistant up on a rock with a Sunswatter with a 2/3 stop silk & another assistant off to the side to bounce light mostly onto the woman's face. I exposed the image to just hold the white details & moved the reflector in closer to balance the light better. My hat clients' comments on all of this shoot was how great the hats looked even when strong side lit and without a shadow being cast by a flag, which is how the photographer before me shot this product."

The final shot below shows how accurately Thornton was able to control his ilghting.
